Like their big brother the R7, the extra distance and spread of the crystal clear 5000K daylight produced enables you to better see and be seen. Trailside animals, pedestrians, and other hazards are more quickly perceived and reacted to. Don't just survive a ride at dusk, enjoy the scenery along the way.
The key difference between the R4 and R7 are output and size. Both utilize machined optics to provide both a flood and spot beam pattern. If riding a larger adventure bike (GSA, SAR, Multistrada), the ideal setup is to install a set of R4 and R7 lights. With the R4's used as a DRL (daytime running light), and the R7 wired into your stock high beam switch, you will enjoy being seen by others during the day and have all the firepower in the world for night missions across the desert.
Sold as both pairs and single units. Pairs of lights arrive in a special RUBY branded box, single light orders are individually wrapped without the RUBY box.

These lights were easy to install and worked well. Came with a yellow filter that is removable, and a small controller that mounted to a mirror stalk.
If you could figure out a way to leave the driving lights indicator light working on the dashboard, that would be icing on the cake. I had inadvertently turned the lights off by pressing the turn signal, and did not notice they were off. But what I have noticed, is that approaching vehicles move over more than they used to. I purchased the lights for safety, amber lights for hi-visibility by other drivers. I like the brightness and the ability to easily remove the amber lens and use the white light at night if needed.
Best light setup on the market!!!! Just get one.
Meet Eric at the MOA rally, talked to him about replacing my factory fog lights with the R4's. After our discussing I ordered them (they would install but did ride the S1000xr to the rally). They arrived at my house and installed them in just a few minutes. On my K1600 I have another brand of light. From now on it Ruby Lights only. Great quality and what a light out of a small package!
